How do I use GridGrade?

Pick a scenario from the list — a short tutorial or a real published test network (WSCC 9-bus, IEEE 14-bus, IEEE 30-bus) — and GridGrade solves it instantly, showing voltage and angle at every bus and flow and loss on every line. From there you can explore N-1 contingency (what happens if a line trips) and cascade behavior.

Is my custom topology saved?

Yes — automatically, on your device, as soon as you save it in the freeform editor. There is no account and no cloud sync in this version, so your saved topologies live on the device you built them on and are removed if you delete the app.

What's included for free, and what does the purchase unlock?

The tutorial scenarios are free to explore. The full benchmark scenario library (WSCC 9-bus, IEEE 14-bus, IEEE 30-bus) and the freeform topology editor unlock with a single one-time purchase — no subscription, no ads, ever.

I already purchased on another device — do I need to pay again?

No. Open the purchase screen and tap Restore Purchases; Apple will restore your entitlement to any device signed in with the same Apple ID, at no additional cost.

Are the numbers real?

Yes. Every scenario is solved with an honest Newton-Raphson AC power-flow solver — the same math used to operate real electrical grids. Nothing is faked, approximated, or looked up from a table. Published test cases (WSCC-9, IEEE-14, IEEE-30) are cross-checked against their original source data.
